On 30th June 30, 2007, it is the second day of the first annual UNWTO/PATA Tourism Trends and Research Conference. Mr. Xiao jian guang, (director of Guangxi Provincial Tourism Bureau) meets Mr. Michael Yates (vice president-operations) from PATA (Pacific and Asia Travel Association). In the course of their talks, they exchange ideas on how to facilitate the opening up and planning process of tour development in Pan-Northern Bay Economy Zone and discuss the pragmatic cooperation practices between Guangxi tourism industry and PATA in the near future.
During their talks, Mr. Xiao gives Mr. Yates the detailed description about Guangxi's abundant tourist resources and the outstanding regional strength in China, and hopes to establish 
a long-term strategic cooperation relationship with PATA which would elevate Guangxi's tourism from quantity to quality. This suggestion is highly praise by Mr. Yates, who shows the same interest in two-side strategic cooperation and willing to pay joint efforts to make Guangxi an increasingly important tour destination in the world, especially in Pacific and Asia region.
At the end of the talks, Mr. Xiao invites Mr. Yates to visit Nan'ning (the provincial capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) in the due course this year, and Mr. Yates accepts the invitation with pleasure.
